Our first morning in India, after arriving in a torrential downpour and being driven by the craziest taxi driver on the planet to an area of town that looked (through the misty window) to be only slightly more up-market than the slums near the airport .. and it was just so good to go and do something touristy, such as looking at the giant gate that King George had built as an entrance way to India .. and through which the Brits were asked to leave a few years later. Astonishingly it's still under construction, or some such.
