Some wildlife on the shore of the lake, doing the stuff that wildlife usually does (ie. eating).   The view from where we were sitting.  I'd describe the fascinating scene in front of the boat, but it would destroy the pathos of what was an especially frustrating moment for me.  I'm sure you can imagine.     Swan with cygnets   El Mar - or The Sea - is the huge man-made lake at the top of the gardens at La Granja, built to provide water pressure to all those fountains.   Locally known as Þingvellir, with an english transliteration to Thingvellir - the original seat of parliament (just to the left) since the middle of the 10th century AD.  The Blue Lagoon, on the Reykjanes Peninsula.

It was around 2°C, and windy as all get out, the day we visited.
