A dam very near Pune. Because of the heavy rains they were having, one of the bridges closer to town had been briefly submerged, and a few of the sluice gates on this dam were opened to reduce the volume of water it was holding. Of course, everyone just stopped their bikes, cars, and cows mid-bridge to have a good ol' gander at the thing.   Not the best shot, but one of the few I managed to take showing the popular 'side saddle, no helmet, pillion passenger' approach to motorbike riding in India. Often enough to be unsettling, you'd see three people on a bike - dad in the middle, mum hanging on to the back, and young'un up front. Just like in a field full of clover, you'd occasionally see a four-person moped and your toes would curl.   On the way out to Karle caves (near Pune), we stopped in for lunch at a new restaurant.

Some people were a tad peckish ...
... while Jyosthna managed to exercise great restraint.   A night scene of the traffic in Pune. Scary stuff to someone from Sydney (but probably not quite as scary for someone from Melbourne).   You'd never know this was posed. It took a good fifteen minutes to get the chicks to stop giggling. And by chicks I mean the other three people in the photo. (Don't let that pink stripey shirt fool you.)
The view from Jyosthna & Akshat's loungeroom - just beautiful.
